Technical Development Centre

Ideas for new products, materials and processes are tested and analyzed in our Technical Development Centre.

The Technical Development Centre (TDC) at our Corporate Head Office in Wingham, Ontario includes a mini foundry, machine shop and exhaust simulator. Its primary purpose is to centralize our research activities and enhance our product design and development capabilities worldwide.

Our TDC is responsible for the following technology support:

  • Development of new materials, products and processes
  • Design capabilities for material, product, tooling and DFM
  • Analysis capabilities for stress, flow, fatigue and failure prediction
  • Prototype capabilities in tooling, casting, machining, weld and assembly
  • Lab capabilities for product durability testing, material chemistry, microstructure, physical properties and weld evaluation
  • Welding capabilities, including robotic, semi-automatic and manual
  • Welding of new materials, dissimilar materials, products and processes

World-class experts, technicians and engineers work in the TDC:

  • 5 Materials, Metallurgy and Process Experts
  • 9 CAD designers & CAE Analysts
  • 5 Lab Specialists
  • 7 Prototype Manufacturing Specialists (Tooling, Casting, Machining, Welding)
  • 7 Product Development Engineers
